The right part in the right place is a guarantee for good sound. For this reason, we offer components that have proven themselves to be of high quality and can be used for the modification of commercial units and the realization of your own ideas so they may not be limited by the availability of parts on hand.
The measured characteristics of components are an important factor in determining their sound quality, but don't entirely describe them. Therefore, our program is structured somewhat differently than at other suppliers. First, we only offer components that we use ourselves. Second, we know what to expect from a particular component and know what it will sound like.
Some things to consider before you start:
Some modifications require basic understanding of the component to be modified. If this page inspires you to improve your CD player, but you don't know how to solder, you would be better off with a finished product. Many of our parts have been out of production for 10 to 25 years and are only available in the given values. To save time on the phone as to which part works best in which circuit, some basic concepts and characteristics have been included on this page. If you are not sure if capacitor A or B is best for you, you can save time by ordering both. After all, you are working on your units in your system and listening to them with your ears. Our prices are such that you can afford to experment. The number of parts we have on hand should be enough to help you to pursue your hobby efficiently and inexpensively.
For standard parts such as ¼ watt metal film resistors, please contact the major dealers in electronic parts, as we can not supply these at competitive prices.
We wish you enjoyment and success in the realization of your projects.
Mica Capacitors
have a silver and mica dielectric and are thus the first choice for excellent high-frequency characteristics. These caps are ideal for paralleling coupling caps. Their effect in parallel with power supply electrolytics is equally astonishing. If you are looking for quality without regarding price, these caps are highly recommended.
These caps are rated at 250 volts DC. Their leads are not magnetic and are spaced at 5mm. Tolerances of 1% or 2% are available.
These caps come in the following values:
68pF, 75pF, 86pF, 90pF, 165pF, 240pF, 255pF, 312pF,
430pF, 620pF, 649pF, 910pF, 1100pF, 1600pF,1690pF 5,20€
125 Volt Caps:
16 400pF, 16 900pf, 21 500pF 12,80€
500 Volt Caps, but with magnetic leads:
47pF, 100pF, 120pF, 250pF, 500pF, 1000pF 5,20€
We also carry various values up to 50 000 pF. Most of these are 1%.
ERO axial KP1832 and MKP1854
These are the highest-quality film caps. We prefer the KP to the MKP caps, although the latter are used as coupling caps in the 2A3 Uchida for good reason. Low values around 1nF cause a considerable improvement as parallel capacitors in crossover networks. We have had impressive results by exclusively paralleling the 0,65 µF values in the A Capella Triolon.

In principle a small cap is always better than a large one for reproducing information in detail. Large caps are unavoidable for low frequencies and power supplies.
The best solution is to combine two or three caps.
We recommend paralleling the basic cap ( KP1832 or MKP1845) with a 3600 pF KP 1832 and a Styrofoam 2700 pF NSF. The KP cap brings out the highs with fine and clear detail. The Styrofoam cap is unequaled in the reproduction of color.
Styrofoam NSF
2700pF/500Volt 2,5% 9x23 axial Made in 1960 ! 2,30 €
These are much better than similar caps, so much better that we would rather not recommend them, as supplies are limited.

Styrofoam Caps
These caps were made by EMZ and are cast in a rectangular housing to protect them from microphonics. All are 1% and ideal for filters. They sound somewhat warmer and fuller than KP caps. 160 Volt.
